Staff: Educational Courses

Course Approvals
The Educational Course Approval form is typically used for college credit courses. These courses are often used towards a lane change, which by contract, requires all courses to be pre-approved.
(Refer to the MEA contract, Article XXXIV for further information on course approval qualifications.)

Course Reimbursements
Each fiscal year, by contract, one approved educational course can be submitted for reimbursement upon completion. (Refer to the MEA contract, Article XXXIV for approved reimbursement amounts)
The course must be completed between 7/1/24 - 6/30/25
in order to be reimbursed under the current Fiscal Year.
Instructions for COURSE Approval
Download and complete the Course Approval form. Sign and attach a course description.
Forward by email or interoffice both the form and course description to Dyana Bogdan at Central Office for approval.
Once your form has been signed by the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, it will be scanned and emailed back to you for your records.
Please allow at least 1 week for this process to be completed.
Instructions for COURSE Reimbursement
Submit the information below to Central Office, Attn: Dyana Bogdan by email or interoffice.
A copy of your grade report* or transcript**. It MUST show:
your name - your grade - course name
name of the university/college
dates the course was taken and/or completed (semester and year)
*A progress report is not acceptable.
**Official transcripts are not required for a course reimbursement.
A copy or screenshot of your payment receipt showing:
your name
course name and/or university/college
the amount paid and the date paid
method of payment
show a zero balance
Once processed, reimbursements are mailed to your home address in approximately 3-4 weeks.
OPEN! Application for a 2nd course reimbursement
Step 1: Complete the application ONLY if you are applying for a second course reimbursement. Your first reimbursement is covered by contract and this form is not necessary. You must apply in order to be eligible for a 2nd reimbursement.
Step 2: Email your reimbursement paperwork to Central Office, Attn: Dyana Bogdan as soon as you have completed the course. See the paperwork requirements above.
