Dear Robinson Students and Families:
I am truly honored to become a member of the Robinson Elementary School community. In the short time that I have been here, I have learned that our teachers and staff truly care about you and love teaching! I am so excited to work with all of you and look forward to our first day of school.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching and leading in Mansfield since 1991. I began here during my time in college as a student teacher. Since then, I served as an art teacher at all levels, a K-12 visual and performing arts coordinator, and an assistant principal at Mansfield High School and Qualters Middle School. I am genuinely committed to serving students and families of the Mansfield Public Schools for many more years to come.
I have spent most of the summer meeting with staff and getting to know the inner workings of the Robinson School, especially as we prepare for another exciting year of learning. I have familiarized myself with current curriculum initiatives and will be looking for input from staff, students and families so that we can continue and build upon the great work that has been happening here.
It is very important to me as a school principal to build solid relationships with children and their families. I plan to get to know your children by observing, engaging with and, listening to them in the hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, and on the playground. I want children to know that I am deeply invested in them and I want them to feel that school is a safe and welcoming place.
In addition to building relationships with your children, I invite you as parents to reach out to me via telephone or email should you have any questions or concerns about your child. Communication is vital for our success and I encourage you to contact your child’s teachers with appropriate questions as well.
Thank you for welcoming me into your school community!
Kerri L. Sankey, Principal
